The Greatest Story Ever Told 2
The Greatest Story Ever Told 2 is a photographic series comprising film stills for an imaginary feature film – a satirical sequel to the 1965 biblical epic.
Set in 2012 to coincide with the conclusion of the Mayan calendar, the work examines critical points of a detailed plotline which critiques contemporary popular culture through its scrutiny of values peculiar to Generation Y.
Blending studio methodologies and conventions of filmmaking with tableau photography, the series explores how mythology is remade, retold and repackaged for suburban consumption.
Production Notes
Over 3,000 photographs were captured using both iPhone 4 and Canon 1DS Mark II cameras, then assembled using Adobe CS5 software to create ten final works.
